Our Training Program:

Basic training is compulsory for the new joiners. The training program includes different aspects of banking product offered to the customers, culture & practice of the bank, required banking acts, knowledge on basic operation etc. Every year bank has to arrange Basic Training Program for all new joiners. From 22nd to 24th February, 2022, bank has arranged a 3 days basic training for the new “Trainee Executive’ batch of the bank. A total 13 newly joined Trainee Executives attended the training program. Multiple in house trainers of the Bank have facilitated the sessions.

Refreshers Training for the new Officers is another mandatory training for the new Officers of the Bank. After completing 18 months on-job training while the Executives absorbed in to permanent cadre from “Trainee Executive Scheme”, they have to attend the stated training program which help them to rejuvenate the knowledge and ideas about the Bank’s operations, services as well as the functions of the relevant departments of the Bank. From 21st to 23rd August, 2022 bank has arranged refreshers training for 16 new officers from different departments and branches of the bank. The sessions were facilitated by the multiple in house trainers of the bank.

AML & CFT related training is also another important training which is arranged every year for all the employees from different departments and branches of the Bank. Recently bank has organized training session on “Prevention of Trade based Money Laundering” for the employees of Chittagong Operations of the Bank which includes Agrabad Branch, Jubilee Road SME Centre, CDA Avenue SME Centre and Chittagong Off-shore Banking Unit. A total 16 participants from different business units of Chittagong have attended the training program.

Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Bangladesh has arranged a training workshop on “Payment of Custom Duty, Fees and Charges through RTGS” at its Head Office in Dhaka on 20th January and 23rd July, 2022. A total 71 participants from different departments and branches of the bank

attended the training program in two sessions. The workshop was facilitated by the resource personnel from Bangladesh Bank

CBC PLC, Bangladesh operations has also arranged several training program on “IT Security and Frauds, Cyber Security and Usages of IT” which were held at different branches during the year 2022. A total of 97 participants from different branches and SME Centre’s of the bank attended the training program in multiple sessions.

K Sripavan

Chairman

Mr Kanagasabapathy Sripavan was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in January 2015 and held office until March 2017. During this period he functioned as the Chairman of the Judicial Services Commission of Sri Lanka, Chairman of the Incorporated Council of Legal Education, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Judges’ Institute and Chairman of the Superior Court Complex Board of Management.

Mr Sripavan was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1977. He obtained a Diploma in Industrial Law from the University of Colombo in 1992 and Master of Laws from the University of London in 1994.

He functioned as the Head of the Court of Appeal Unit in the Attorney General’s Department and handled a large volume of work both in the Court of Appeal and in the Supreme Court including Bills and Fundamental Rights Applications. Prior to the elevation to the Court of Appeal Bench he functioned as a Legal Consultant for the National Savings Bank for two years.

He was appointed a Judge of the Court of Appeal in May 2002 and was elevated to the post of President of the Court of Appeal in March 2007 by his Excellency the President. In March 2008 he was elevated to the Supreme Court Bench.
