Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC recently felicitated Mr Dilip Das Gupta, the Senior General Manager of the Bank’s Bangladesh operations, in appreciation of his exemplary services. An eminent banking professional of high standing, Mr Das Gupta is widely-revered for his contributions to the development of the industry. In 2003 he was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit, France’s highest civilian honour, for his outstanding contributions in the field of international banking. Mr Das Gupta is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Minority Welfare Trust, a member of the National Executive Committee of the ENT & Head-Neck Cancer Hospital, Dhaka. He has been recognized as a “Sera Kardata” by National Board of Revenue in the year 2018.
Commercial Bank of Ceylon entered Bangladesh in July 2003 with the acquisition of the Bangladesh operations of Credit Agricole Indosuez (CAI), its first ever acquisition of a banking operation.
