DPS (Dream Planner Savings) is a progressive deposit product, which guarantees attractive return on your hard earned money at the end of your chosen period. Relax and watch your monthly deposit grow.

Deposit amounts: You can choose an affordable monthly deposit amount from BDT 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000 or 25000. Period Options: 3, 5 or 10 years.

Flexibility to deposit on any day of the month in any of our Branch or simply give a standing instruction from your other accounts.

Loan: You may avail loan up to 80% of principal amount.

Features

  • Deposit amounts: You can choose an affordable monthly deposit amount from BDT 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000 or 25000.
  • Period Options: 3, 5 or 10 years.
  • Flexibility: deposit any day of the month at any of our Branch or simply give a standing instruction from your other accounts.
  • Emergency: you may encash prematurely any time. If deposit is withdrawn 6 months after opening, interest will be paid at normal savings rate.
  • Loan: You may avail loan up to 80% of principal amount of the deposit after 1 years of opening your account.

Account opening process

  • All Passbook DPS Savings Account holders will be issued with a passbook where your transactions will be recorded. Please inform the branch immediately if your passbook is lost, stolen or misplaced.
  • You will receive a statement of transactions monthly or as decided when the account was opened. Please verify these transactions and notify the Bank of any discrepancy without delay.

Withdrawals

If you are a Passbook Savings Account holder, please produce your passbook along with the duly completed withdrawal form when making over the counter withdrawals.

Chairman

Mr Kanagasabapathy Sripavan was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in January 2015 and held office until March 2017. During this period he functioned as the Chairman of the Judicial Services Commission of Sri Lanka, Chairman of the Incorporated Council of Legal Education, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Judges’ Institute and Chairman of the Superior Court Complex Board of Management.

Mr Sripavan was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1977. He obtained a Diploma in Industrial Law from the University of Colombo in 1992 and Master of Laws from the University of London in 1994.

He functioned as the Head of the Court of Appeal Unit in the Attorney General’s Department and handled a large volume of work both in the Court of Appeal and in the Supreme Court including Bills and Fundamental Rights Applications. Prior to the elevation to the Court of Appeal Bench he functioned as a Legal Consultant for the National Savings Bank for two years.

He was appointed a Judge of the Court of Appeal in May 2002 and was elevated to the post of President of the Court of Appeal in March 2007 by his Excellency the President. In March 2008 he was elevated to the Supreme Court Bench.
